Description
The reconstruction of the current building began in the beginning of the 15th century by the Seyssel family. Various refurbishments followed until the end of the 17th century, in particular the stairway built just before 1600. The latter was built according to a Renaissance design, but with the flamboyant Gothic style from the first half of the 16th century.
The building was used by the Société du Cercle from 1824 to 1849, before being eventually bought by the town in 1866 to set up administrative offices. The building was classed as a Historic Monument in 1890. Various modifications were made, including the building to the north of the stairway, which currently serves as the Town Hall's welcome area.
